Prostitution is a sin but are these prostitutes the real sinners?

The brothel owner said if I don’t work, she’ll kill me and if I don’t do the business, she’ll sell me. They beat me with sticks. If I refused, they would’nt give me any food.

-Guddi (A young prostitute at Indian brothel)

Biggest Brothel in India:

India is ranked to be the number 1 country that is dangerous for women. Rape of women and beheading them is very common. It is not that India has some specific drawback or people over there are rotten. We all have such people, who are the true definition of “terrorists” in our own society and states. Maybe in a small amount than that in India, but we do have. This is a time to support each other against this rather than playing that same rotten blame game that is being played by nations since forever. If India is ranked #1 for rape and street crime, we will be laughing at them making fun of their despair. We should be shameful for mocking at the helplessness and despair of any state or nation because our country might be the next one. Brothels that are being run by people in different areas are a place of horror, despair and hopelessness. Just watch the video below and think for a moment that will any girl ever want a life like this for her? Will any girl ever opt for this life of pain and merciless brutality?
Never!

Prostitution is not a job. The inside of a woman’s body is not a workplace”

We have such a horrendous attitude towards humanity that many people out there die silently just because they can’t face us due to the artificial living standards and dogma of higher expectations we have built in every society as per our beliefs and traditions. We are just shrinking the diameter of this “superficial expectation circle” around ourselves day by day due to which others are literally choking not being able to live up to those expectations and artificial beliefs. We all are constructing this boundary of higher values and social code of conduct day by day making it almost impossible for weaker members of our society including prostitutes to live and survive. They cannot live like us because we will anyhow kill their soul by addressing them as a worthless piece of barren land that is of no use to us anymore, women will be hesitant to give them jobs due to security issues, mothers will not trust them due to their dirty past. This is how we are disdaining the rights of many help seekers out there who need us. We keep opening schools for transgenders, disable and special people every day. What is the real error of prostitutes? Just because someone raped them and threw them into this dirty slum brothel? Just because a baby girl was born into the brothel from a slave prostitute and a filthy client who just fulfilled his fantasy and went away? Just because those pretty hopeless girls were trafficked and brought to this hell? Is that so?

“Where I used to live we were extremely poor. So I asked my neighbour to help me find work. She said her daughter earned $5 a week as a maid in Mumbai. That sounded a lot to us. So I said okay I’ll go. I was 11 years old then, I was really little. I was taken to the 14th lane in Kamathipura. They told me I’m here to have sex with men. I refused, and asked to be put on the train home but they beat me severely and the woman they left me with held my hands and her daughter held my legs down and the customer forced himself down on me. For three months I was in hospital.”
-Guddi (Indian Prostitute)

There is a booming sex trade of virgins as they decrease the risk of sexually transmitted diseases. Virgin children are brought to the brothel and caged into the dark boxes told one of the prostitute rescuers. Pretty little girls are brought to such a dystopia for destroying their future and hopes. This is literally the end of humanity.

The biggest brothel in Bangladesh:

My neighbour kidnapped me. He sold me for $415. I can’t leave until that dept has been paid. In the first days, I truly suffered. Everything hurt. But slowly, I have learnt to deal with it, physically and mentally.

-Eithee (Young prostitute at Bengali Brothel)

I am a prisoner who is being watched. They are afraid I might run away and they’d lose money.
-Eithee (Young prostitute at Bengali Brothel)

People always say, “your sister’s working streets.” And they insult us. If she wanted to do something else, they’d always remind her that she used to be a prostitute.
-brother of Khushi

If one day I leave here and go back into real society, if anyone knows I am from here they will say I am not a good person.
-Khushi (Prostitute)

Do you believe in true love? -Yes, I do this job out of love, for my siblings and my mother. I’d like to have children, but that is not an option here. They’d immediately be branded. But if I was to live outside and was married, that would be good. If you’re in a relationship here, men beat the women and take their money.
-Khushi (Prostitute)

I don’t care if it kills me, as long as I can earn a living. Allah called them home. When He calls, I will go as well.
-Kaalee (Prostitute at a bengali brothel)

When I work the streets and the children are there, the clients leave. The children ask questions. They know I am doing this for them. So they’ll have food. I always tell them I’ll stop as soon as possible.
Bathakaaya (Bengali Prostitute)

My kids are born on the streets. I was desperate and couldn’t raise them. I wanted them to learn, to eat and to have a good life. I feel guilty. It’s hard. I’ve asked Allah to call me home. I took a saari. I attached it to the fan and committed suicide. The little boy came in and screamed mummy! mummy! He was pulling on the fan. Another boy came in and they cut down the sari and I fell on the bed.
-Shupee (Former Prostitute at Bangladesh Brothel)

Selling sex in the Dominican Republic:

Prostitution is most common among teens due to child abuse and maltreatment from their families. Families beat them up and throw them out of their life. Many girls have nowhere to go so they chose prostitution as a medium to earn money and support their kids. Men just come and leave, they have no idea that somewhere, a poor lady labelled as a filthy prostitute is actually the mother of his own son or daughter.

I go to ask for forgiveness because I commit a lot of sins. The job I do is a really big sin. I feel ashamed and I’m afraid of God. Prostitution, it’s a sin. But one day this will end.
-Frandi James (Prostitute at Dominican Republic)

I say I am strong because of all I’ve put up with. My grandma treated me very badly. She hit me a lot. My mother never visited nor did my father. I’d see her maybe once a year. She hit us a lot everyday.
-Frandi James (Prostitute at Dominican Republic)

I had to wait for clients to send me money to get register for school. Thank God I am studying now. And when I finish, I want to work in a call centre. So I can be an example to my son. So he doesn’t see me as I am now.
-Frandi James (Prostitute at Dominican Republic)

In the end, I would just like to ask a simple question from every mother, father, brother, sister, man, woman and husband to look at their pretty little daughter playing around them right now. How her chubby cheeks are wet with the mango juice and her tiny clothes soaked in water that she threw on her accidentally. How her tiny feet move to and fro in excitement and joy whenever she looks at you. Can you ever imagine her to be under the custody of some filthy men with a horrendous mind aka so-called clients? Can you ever think of your baby girl crying out of pain for something she never even thought about? Just imagine your mothers, sisters, wives and loved ones to be working in these filthy and rotten brothels. Just think! Think before you go to the same brothels or maybe the lavish ones for fulfilling your 30-minutes-lust.
These prostitutes are not working because they find it good for them. The never chose this fate for them. They were brought to the brothels forcefully. Harshness and brutality have reached to their limits when we look at the brothel videos on youtube, Dailymotion, Vimeo and where not. They are also someone’s daughters who are slaughtering their souls while sacrificing their bodies for drivers, mechanics, sweepers, shopkeepers, drunkards, drug addicts, taxi drivers, dung cleaners, and lower classmen. They would have also dreamed of prince charming and magical pegasus but all they got is a cruel brothel owner and dirty clients who even don’t look like human beings. They are worst than animals.

The basic purpose of this post is to extend your hands towards these deserving women and give them a ray of hope that they can also survive in this superficial society rather than rejecting and degrade them. Don’t forget that it is people like you and me, who are promoting this business come violence. We all need to put a stop to it before these strong roots of child trafficking and abuse might someday snatch away our precious gems from us. Where would we find them? Of those horrible dark virgin trap boxes, which dark box will your daughter be in? How many locks will you get opened up by those brothel owners? In which brothel will you go then to find your own baby girl?
Just think and spread awareness!

Lyrical Challenge: Day 3

Hello sugar cakes how are you all doing? I hope you are all having a lovely day or magical nights 🙂 I am so sorry but I have no idea either there is a day at your place or the night as I usually write at the night time as per the time zone of majority of the crew I am honored to  have in my cozy nook.

So, today is the third day of the lyrical challenge. And the song that I chose for today is Wait by Maroon 5. It is an amazing song and it hooks e up for like the whole time from the moment I turn it on till the time it ends. I hope you guys will like this song as much as I do 🙂

Wait

Maroon 5

Dirty looks from your mother
Never seen you in a dress that color, no
It’s a special occasion
Not invited but I’m glad I made it

Oh, let me apologize
I’ll make up, make up, make up, make up for all those times
Your love, I don’t wanna lose
I’m beggin’, beggin’, beginn’, beggin’, I’m begging you

Wait, can you turn around, can you turn around?
Just wait, can we work this out, can we work this out?
Just wait, can you come here please? ‘Cause I want to be with you

Wait, can you turn around, can you turn around?
Just wait, can we work this out, can we work this out?
Just wait, can you come here please? ‘Cause I want to be with you

Can we talk for a moment?
Got these feelings that I’m tired of holding on
Wasn’t tryin’ to get wasted
I needed more than three or four to say this

Oh, let me apologize (yea)
I’ll make up, make up, make up, make up for all those times (all those times)
Your love, I don’t wanna lose
I’m beggin’, beggin’, beggin’, beggin’, I’m begging you

Wait, can you turn around, can you turn around?
Just wait, can we work this out, can we work this out?
Just wait, can you come here please? ‘Cause I want to be with you

Wait, can you turn around, can you turn around?
Just wait, can we work this out, can we work this out?
Just wait, can you come here please? ‘Cause I want to be with you

You say I’m just another bad guy
You say I’ve done a lot of things I can’t undo
Before you tell me for the last time
I’m beggin’, beggin’, beggin’, beggin’ you

Wait, can you turn around, can you turn around?
Just wait, can we work this out, can we work this out?
Just wait, can you come here please? ‘Cause I want to be with you

Wait, can you turn around, can you turn around?
Just wait, can we work this out, can we work this out?
Just wait, can you come here please? ‘Cause I want to be with you

Heart Attack Lyrics

Enrique Iglesias

Loving you was easy
Thought you’d never leave me
Yeah, yeahWrapped around my finger
See ya when I see ya
Yeah, yeahNow I’m hearing around
That you been running around
I didn’t think I’d miss you
Now I’m feeling like a fool
Ooh Ooh

[Chorus:]
It hit me like a heart attack
When you finally left me girl
I thought I’d never want you back
But I don’t wanna live in a world without you
I don’t wanna live in a world without you
I don’t wanna live in a world without you

Never really noticed
All the little things you did, you did
Never bought you roses
Always was around my friends, my friends

And now I’m hearing around
That you been running around
I didn’t think I’d miss you
Now I’m feeling like a fool
Ooh Ooh

[Chorus:]

Never should have let you slip away
Living in a world that’s turned to grey
Little did I know it hurt so bad
Ooh, ooh

Cause it hit me like a heart attack
When you finally left me girl
I thought I’d never want you back
But I don’t wanna live in a world without you
I don’t wanna live in a world without you
I don’t wanna live in a world without you

No oh
I don’t wanna live in a world without you
No oh
I don’t wanna live in a world without you

Now I’m hearing around
That you been running around
I didn’t think I’d miss you
Now I’m feeling like a fool
Ooh Ooh

I hope yall will enjoy this song as much as I do 🙂

“Music, at its essence, is what gives us memories. And the longer a song has existed in our lives, the more memories we have of it.”

-Stevie Wonder

The song that I am going to share today is one of my top favourites right now. I am so obsessed with this song that my day starts with it and I see the whole night dancing and swirling on the rhythm of this masterpiece by Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line named as “Meant to be”. It is a beautiful song with deep lyrics. I hope you guys would love it as much as I do ❤

Meant To Be

Bebe Rexha

Baby, lay on back and relax, kick your pretty feet up on my dash
No need to go nowhere fast, let’s enjoy right here where we at
Who knows where this road is supposed to lead
We got nothing but time
As long as you’re right here next to me, everything’s gonna be alright
If it’s meant to be, it’ll be, it’ll be
Baby, just let it be
If it’s meant to be, it’ll be, it’ll be
Baby, just let it be
So, won’t you ride with me, ride with me?
See where this thing goes
If it’s meant to be, it’ll be, it’ll be
Baby, if it’s meant to be
I don’t mean to be so uptight, but my heart’s been hurt a couple times
By a couple guys that didn’t treat me right
I ain’t gon’ lie, ain’t gonna lie
‘Cause I’m tired of the fake love, show me what you’re made of
Boy, make me believe
But hold up, girl, don’t you know you’re beautiful?
And it’s easy to see
If it’s meant to be, it’ll be, it’ll be
Baby, just let it be
If it’s meant to be, it’ll be, it’ll be
Baby, just let it be
So, won’t you ride with me, ride with me?
See where this thing goes
If it’s meant to be, it’ll be, it’ll be
Baby, if it’s meant to be
So, c’mon ride with me, ride with me
See where this thing goes
So, c’mon ride with me, ride with me
Baby, if it’s meant to be
Maybe we do
Maybe we don’t
Maybe we will
Maybe we won’t
But if it’s meant to be, it’ll be, it’ll be
Baby, just let it be
If it’s meant to be, it’ll be, it’ll be (c’mon)
Baby, just let it be (let’s go)
So, won’t you ride with me, ride with me?
See where this thing goes
If it’s meant to be, it’ll be, it’ll be
Baby, if it’s meant to be
If it’s meant to be, it’ll be, it’ll be
Baby, if it’s meant to be
If it’s meant to be, it’ll be, it’ll be
Baby, if it’s meant to be

Happy lyrically sugar cakes 🙂

Let’s depress the Depression: You can never get rid of it but somewhere in between, Happiness can dominate!

Pop the handsfree in your tiny ears and let’s begin this journey of inner peace!

I was driving rashly at about 7000 km/h when suddenly my truck of depression crashed into the lorry of happiness. I flew out of the windscreen and flew high in the air because of the jerk. The collision resulted into a magical sight. I was suspended into the air for fine 5 minutes, apparently breathing my last. All the broken shards and pieces suspended into the air like twinkling stars scattered around me. I touched one with my fingertip and there I went straight down to the road. I was saved due to the crash landing on one of the finest cushions that the happiness lorry was loaded with.

This is depression! It is no more than a situation you have in your mind. It is no less than this depression truck that is loaded with bundles of struggling emotions, strangled thoughts and packagings of confusions and distress driven by you. You are the only one who is creating this scenario and only you can make a better picture. We are all overspeeding with our depression loaders and we never know when we might crash into this same happiness truck. Well, we can not wait for such a fantasy to happen to us, so let’s move toward some practical ideas that might help us in improving our melancholic little brains 🙂

Having depression is as natural as anybody having a habit of eating!

Funny isn’t it? But actually, it is not. People never make this choice to be depressed. It is as if you got addicted to nail biting and can’t resist it anymore. So you try different methods to avoid it. Don’t worry soft hearted creampies, we are up with you on this voyage to beat depression. Remember! It is difficult to get rid of depression completely but you can increase the amount of sunshine in your life by stepping out of that tiny room of darkness you reside in. Here are some of the well-researched tips that you can definitely give a try in order to beat the depression! Let’s depress the depression 😀

1. Go for a prescribed anti-depressant:

“Depression is the single largest contributor to global disability that we have – a massive challenge for humankind,” said John Geddes, professor of epidemiological psychiatry at Oxford University. It affects around 350 million people worldwide and instances rose almost 20% from 2005-2015.

Millions of more people around the world should be prescribed pills or offered talking therapies, which work equally well for moderate to severe depression, say the doctors, noting that just one in six people receive proper treatment in the rich world – and one in 27 in the developing world.

“Antidepressants are an effective tool for depression. Untreated depression is a huge problem because of the burden to society,” said Andrea Cipriani of the NIHR Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre, who led the study.

https://interactive.guim.co.uk/charts/embed/feb/2018-02-21T15:35:09/embed.html

In a commentary in the journal, Sagar Parikh from the University of Michigan in the USA and Sidney Kennedy from the University of Toronto in Canada pointed out that three drugs scored best for efficacy and tolerability: agomelatine, escitalopram, and vortioxetine. Three others scored particularly poorly: fluvoxamine, reboxetine, and trazodone. The first three “might be considered the first choice” by doctors, they write, although the two most effective drugs – amitriptyline and venlafaxine – might still be the first choice for severe depression.

2. Switch to natural anti-depressants:

It’s estimated that 1 in 10 adults now takes a prescription antidepressant. But these antidepressants can have rather unacceptable side effects and work for less than half of those who take them. Such a situation needs an urgent alternate. Before starting to take the anti-depressants, give these natural antidepressants a try as research shows that they work as well or even better than the usual drugs prescribed for depression — with fewer side effects.

1. Curcumin:

curcuin.jpg

Curcumin, the primary active ingredient of the Indian spice turmeric, is best-known in natural medicine circles for its anti-inflammatory effects. But researchers discovered how curcumin supplements can also act as effective an effective herbal antidepressant. The study involved 60 patients with the major depressive disorder who were randomly divided into three groups: one group received curcumin only in the form of 500 mg standardized curcumin extract twice daily, another group received the standard daily dose of 20 mg fluoxetine, and the third group received a combination of the two treatments.

The severity of depression was assessed before and after the six-week treatment using a well-researched test for depression known as the Hamilton Rating Scale. The HAM-D, as it’s called, evaluates mood, feelings of guilt, suicidal ideation, insomnia, agitation or motor retardation (slowed movements), anxiety, weight loss and other common depression symptoms.

Overall, the average change in the HAM-D scores was similar for curcumin and fluoxetine. In other words, as a natural antidepressant, curcumin worked as well as the prescription drug fluoxetine in terms of improvements in depression severity.

Curcumin could be taken as it is, with milk, in your regular meals or in the form of ayurvedic and homoeopathic medications that are more natural and healthier than the allopathic medicines.

Curopep capsules are available at Amazon.

2. Saffron:

sa.jpg

Extracts made from the popular Middle Eastern spice saffron have also recently been shown to be effective natural antidepressants in several small clinical trials. The petals and the stigmas of the Crocus sativus plant contain crocin and safranal, believed to be saffron’s active components and natural antidepressants.

One double-blind, randomized, controlled trial compared the effects of saffron with fluoxetine (generic form of Prozac) in 40 people with major depression. For eight weeks, half the participants took a supplement containing petal of Crocus sativus (15 mg morning and evening) and the other half took fluoxetine (10 mg morning and evening). Depression symptoms and severity were rated using the Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression.

At the end of the study, both the saffron and fluoxetine treatments resulted in significant improvements in depression symptoms and severity, with no difference in the amount of improvement between the two groups. At least two previous studies also found that both the stigmas and petals of saffron (30 mg per day) act as natural antidepressants with effectiveness equal to generic Prozac.

Saffron 20 20 capsules are available at amazon.

Take either of these natural antidepressants for at least six to eight weeks before making any decisions about their effectiveness. And if you continue to struggle with depression, remember that all depression medications, whether synthetic pharmaceuticals or the best natural antidepressant, work best in conjunction with diet and lifestyle changes, treatment for nutritional deficiencies, and other natural therapies.

 3. Lively hobbies for combating existential thoughts:

hobby.jpg

A depressed soul, at the time of depression, gets this continuous thought of uselessness. Existential questions are flooded inside its mind as streams of tears flow down the florid cheeks. Such thoughts can only be defeated by sticking to its counter. By proving yourself to be capable of doing many good things will depress the depression ultimately.

Hobbies like book reading and hanging out with friends are not going to help you in any way. They will only increase the stress and melancholy level of yours. You have to search for something that appeals to you in the phase of depression. For this, you have to work out a little by investigating your attitude and desires during your depressed state. Observe what appeals to you and what offends you meanwhile. Write all the dos and not to dos on a notebook and always keep it with you. Lively hobbies include gardening, cooking, painting, colouring and helping others, feeding pets and animals, teaching kids and telling stories are the best hobbies to stick to during the depression phase as they all have a healthy and useful output.

I am sowing fresh seeds of blackberry in the soil with my bare hands. This tree will grow into a big shady tree with a cool shelter. Hundreds and thousands of people a day will sit under this shade in hot summer noons when there will be no other place to stand by or take a nap. Would I still get this thought of uselessness?

Remember! Your mind is depressed, it is confused not retarded.

4. Self-help books as a precaution:

boo.jpg

Self-help books are just the precautions that you have to take beforehand. Read good self-help books when you are in an anti-depressed phase and note down the important points that you feel like might be helping you in your depression phase.

Always go for good self-help books as every writer has his own writing style and explanations. Some are welcoming while others are a bit critical and straightforward in nature. Always have a sneaky-peak of the synopsis before purchasing it.

I like Dale Carnegie, Cleo Wade, James Allen and Mark Manson personally. Both Carnegie and Manson are the direct counter of each other. Dale Carnegie has soft stylistics features while Mark Manson is a straightforward and a rational writer. Cleo wade writes beautiful poetic wisdom in her book Heart Talk while James Allen gives philosophical solutions for living a better life in his book

5.  Get a good reason to cry:

tt.jpg

I spent a beautiful night with my boyfriend in the fairy meadows and for the time being, I felt as if everything is going perfect in my life, life is beautiful and this delight is eternal. A month later, I found out that I was already late. This made me and my boyfriend curious that maybe I got pregnant accidentally. I watched a lot of videos about early symptoms of pregnancy and methods of abortion. While I was looking for the videos, I was so lost in the ocean of my pessimism that somehow a video of childbirth opened up and I was watching it unintentionally. I was so depressed and the things around me were like shattering into million shards of glass while each fragment was piercing me and entering into my body with excessive blood loss and pain. I was just staring at the screen of my mobile phone when the scenario of that baby coming out of his mother’s womb captured my mind. It was horrific! Suddenly that baby cried for the first time and with him, I cried too! Tears were streaming down my cheeks and to my surprise they were the tears of joy. It was beautiful! I never ever felt that way before. It was something special. That day I realized that there are a good face and a bad face of every picture. As you cry in sadness, so can the good things make you cry harder and trust me crying for the good is the best favour you can do to you. It offers you binaries. And binaries are always beautiful when in harmony 🙂

During the depression phase, rather than watching depressed videos showing pain and sorrow, watch videos like one of your parent’s marriage or of random people’s, romance movies, childbirth videos, victorious moments of your favourite football player or random award ceremonies. It will fulfil your urge to cry while sending a secret signal to your brain that it is beautiful to cry for good reasons. This will be very helpful!

6. Dance:

dac.png

Meditation is a good shot when it comes to treating your inner self with pease and prosperity. But a person who is burning inside already can get no fruit from meditation because he is not calm and cannot be in any way until he doesn’t come out of depression phase. Meditation is a good idea in your good mood when you are calm and peaceful. But, in the depression phase, dance is the best thing you can ever do.

A depressed person frequently gets this thought of hurting himself and doing self-harm. Force yourself to dance and dance until you feel like you are punishing yourself until you don’t feel like being a victim of dancing 😀 Turn on the music loud, jump, push, get high, get low, run, breathe and shoot for the stars! Dance as your body allows you to move, twist, and break meanwhile speaking out its language of aggression. Don’t stop until there is a smile on your face.

“While I dance I can not judge, I can not hate, I can not separate myself from life.  I can only be joyful and whole. This is why I dance.”

– Hans Bos

7. Anti-depressant lifestyle:

tra.jpg

Remember! However hard you try to beat this depression, you cannot succeed if you are not willing to do it. Willpower and trying to be as normal as you can is the main thing while other efforts are the subdomains. A healthy lifestyle is one of the essentials to live a better life. Now, if we talk about antidepressant lifestyle, keep a few points in mind that research says are required to be adopted in order to escape from depression at the lowest level.

  1. Meditate
  2. Use virgin olive oil or coconut oil in place of canola oil
  3. Morning walk
  4. 20 minutes workout or cardio in the morning
  5. Healthy and a proper breakfast (even if you don’t feel like having it)
  6. Head and body massage
  7. Proper rest is very important (in case you suffer from insomnia, take proper rest from work)
  8. Eat more veggies
  9. Drink plenty of water
  10. Smile, communicate and travel

8. Good Music:

mu

Music is not only the food for the soul but it is also being used to combat depression. Research has shown that patients who listen to healing music and tunes are more likely to combat and reduce the depression intensity. Whenever you feel like depression is knocking at your door, open up your healing music playlist and turn the volume up.

Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.

-Plato

Modern music therapy originated in the 1940s after World War II. Thousands of soldiers with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) were institutionalized, unable to function in society. Community musicians began to visit veteran hospitals to play for those suffering from physical and emotional trauma. Nurses and doctors noted the positive physical and emotional response—how the hymns and melodies reached patients in ways that traditional therapies were unable to — and began to hire musicians for the hospitals.

Rave nights and concerts are the best ideas when it comes to good music. Fall in love and dance the night away. Also, there are many healing kinds of music available on youtube.

9. Bringing plants and pot flowers:

flo.jpg

Like we bring gifts for children, presents for loved ones, similarly, we should never forget to give flowers to people suffering from depression. The best thing to combat depression is Nature. Fresh flowers and soothing green plants defeat depression with flying colours. Depressed souls should always have them nice and exotic flowers that they like, in their bedroom and lounges, balconies and toilets. Fresh flowers should be put in each flower pot every morning and soothing indoor plants must be watered every morning as per their requirement.

Research proves that many plants and flowers decrease stress levels based on their calming and cleansing effects. Not only do they look great and bring vitality and life to your living spaces, but they can have fantastic relaxing and purifying benefits – which in turn can promote a healthy sleeping pattern.

With stress and anxiety causing half of all insomnia issues, it’s a good idea to fill your home and bedroom with a variety of plants that have a calming effect. After all, studies clearly show that spending time in nature reduces stress levels, so why not simply bring nature indoors?

The good news is there are a variety of plants that can purify the air while you sleep – in fact NASA did a whole study on it! Some of these cleansing plants are:

  • Jasmine
  • Lavender
  • Snake Plant (Mother-in-Law’s Tongue)
  • Aloe Vera
  • Gardenia
  • Spider Plant
  • Valerian
  • English Ivy

10. Find the right person and call:

car

Remember! You should always have that one number in fast dials list for quick depression retreat. You have no idea how worse your depression might get. So, whenever you feel like having a severe panic attack, just call that person and say it all. Tell him or her how you feel and how much dumb you have been in the past. Cry! Ask for help and say whatever comes to your mind.

Crying and sharing your fears and sadness is always the best thing to do because it is an instant cure for stress and depression. If you inflate a balloon more than its capacity, it will rupture. But if you make a tiny hole in the other side of the balloon, it will not burst and the pressure will never build. Same is the case with a human mind.

11. Surroundings and environment:

col.jpg

An environment is the soul of life. From your birth to your death, everything is based upon our surroundings. With your birth, the ambience changes into blooming colours, sparkling toys, exotic dresses, colourful walls and merry music. While, when you die, the environment is turned into dull and white. That soft twinkling music changes into sobs and cries with no hint of gaiety anymore.

Our surrounding affects directly on our mood and soul. It is a hidden factor that keeps on affecting us without us even knowing. The setting of our room, wallpaper designs, the colour scheme of the walls, furniture designs and the dress colour that we wear are the prime factors that affect our mood and stress levels. Surroundings are made up of different colours. Let’s see what colour therapy says about colours we should surround ourselves with for cleansing effect and positive energies.

The different colours used to evoke positive emotional responses generally include orange, blue, indigo, and violet. Others colours like red or yellow also trigger emotions, but those tend to be higher energy feelings and so are not used therapeutically very often.

  • Orange – Symbolizing the sun, the colour orange is said to treat depression by increasing alertness and concentration, and by decreasing feelings of dread.
  • Blue – The most common colour used in colour therapy, blue is used to reduce tension throughout the body, helping with both anxiety and depression. It may also benefit a regular sleep cycle.
  • Indigo – The calming effect of indigo makes it a good choice for people with depression or anxiety.
  • Violet – Like indigo, violet relaxes the mind and body. Proponents of colour therapy claim that it can relax muscles and encourage meditation.
  • Red- Promotes energy, strength, motivation, confidence, will-power, courage, initiative, focus on attention to detail. It is good for depression, negativity, shyness (avoid in anger, irritability)
  • Gold- Promotes enthusiasm, balancing thoughts and feelings, wisdom. It is good for depression (especially during menopause), stress, anxiety.
  • Green- Promotes balance, harmony, personal development, self-acceptance, compassion for self and others, renewal. It is good for stress, anxiety, self-pity, confusion.
  • Turquoise- Promotes calm, cleansing, healing, personal relationships, sharing, friendship, resilience. It is good for stress, anxiety and anger.
  • Magenta- Promotes letting go of the past or anxiety-provoking thoughts, moving on, spiritual understanding. It is good for reducing aggression.
  • Pink- Promotes calm, clarity of thought, affection, compassion, nurturing, kindness and resolving power. It is good for difficulties in relationships, insomnia, anger, aggression, over-sensitivity

“A pearl is a beautiful thing that is produced by an injured life. It is the tear [that results] from the injury of the oyster. The treasure of our being in this world is also produced by an injured life. If we had not been wounded, if we had not been injured, then we will not produce the pearl.”

Traveller’s Notebook: How to make your travelling magical!

Travelling is the ultimate source of relaxation and tranquillity. It doesn’t matter either the destination is a nearby hill station or the peaks or vertical limit. Before starting this story, let’s turn on the music!

A night before, I was doing a research on my other article about exploring France. France got me so into it that I felt myself getting absorbed into the screen. After I was done with my work, I got up and started packing up my bag for the trip we had the next day. I picked up a pair of socks, my cosmetics bag, travel journal, teabags, camera, headphones, mobile charger, power bank, toothbrush and a pack of mint chewing gums and popped them all inside my cute sparkling bag.

I woke up early in the morning so that my daily routine of workout might not get disturbed and after 20 minutes of morning exercise and yoga, I was all ready to go. We bought snacks from the nearby grocery store and started our journey. I turned on the music and popped my headphones inside my tiny ears. All of a sudden things started to fascinate me like never before. I was lost in a fairytale and this was the magical time when I hit upon many ideas to have a great time at the hill station we were going to visit.

We had a beautiful time over there and when I got home, I jotted down the main points in my notebook that I am now going to share with you guys about how to make your trip a magical one. Here are some ideas that you should definitely give a try whenever you go out next time.

1. Add travelling music to your playlist:

Before stepping into the campervan, make sure you have accurate travelling music in your playlist. Remember that music is the food of souls and you would never want your soul to starve the whole time.

2. Load your Backpack with Travelling Essentials:

Make a list of all the travelling essentials that vary as per the type of place you are going to visit. A camera, travelling journal, teabags, my watch, compass, money, mobile phone and its charger, power bank, headphones, cosmetics bag, sunblock and a good book to read are my travelling essentials. Do tell me about your travelling essentials in the comments down below!

Bringing colours to your travelling journal:

With the start of your journey, collect minute information and details like random addresses, station names, stranger friends contact details, your new friends and companions, your train’s arrival and departure time, your feelings and expectations, dreams and desires, beautiful scenes and horrible experiences, to dos and not to dos tips, preserving the picturesque beauty of the sceneries and aqua skies by clicking mini pictures from your camera.

Nature Photography:

Try to capture the beautiful picturesque that mother Earth reflects in those faraway fairy meadows. You don’t need to have a professional camera for this, a mini digital camera is fair enough even your mobile phones will work wonders in this task. Capturing the beauty of nature is actually for preserving those beautiful moments in your mind forever so that you can cherish those moments of relaxation and beauty whenever you feel like going there.

“I saw the clouds forming from the heart of meadows and then getting the perfect fluff and sponginess. They rose up and treaded elegantly, kissing the mighty mountains a soft goodbye.”

Try all the Specialities of that Area:

The specialities of Murree hills are fresh coconut, ripe cherries and roasted corn cob. I tried them all and took pictures of them as well. I can still feel the plumpness of those cherries, a fresh splash of coconut water and crispy aroma of roasted corn whenever I look at the pictures.

Visit one posh and one local restaurant in that area:

Binaries are always beautiful and you get a lot to debate topics as well. We can always go to an expensive restaurant but always remember that the local restaurant is the real taste of any area. It makes you feel like you have completely indulged in that place.

Visit any nearby cafe or club:

Rave is always a great idea at night when it comes to travelling with friends. It takes you deep into the valleys of delight and ecstasy. For lovebirds, this is a must to do!

Buy the floral accessories of that area:

Every area has its special accessory like daisy tiaras, rose bracelets, leafy baskets and many others. I bought the daisy tiaras for me and my sister. We also took pretty pictures wearing them. It was such a fun seeing everyone wearing the same tiaras.

Explore and mark the places you want to go:

A night is the best time to take a break from the noise and revive the silence. Before sleeping, mark the places you want to visit and learn about the routes and roads. Do not forget to have a warm cup of tea while exploring all the special places that you don’t want to miss in your travelling journal.

Visit all the monuments and historical places:

Monuments and historical places are the heritage of every place. They are the only death that can communicate with you, can speak and tell their story. Never miss the monuments whenever you are travelling.

Don’t forget yourself:

Don’t forget yourself! Take fancy and weird pictures and post them on social media because nature is for everyone ❤

I hope you guys enjoyed reading this post. Keep travelling, shining and inspiring me 🙂

The Traveller’s Notebook: Exploring France(Part-2)-Best cuisine and budget hotels.

Hello, Travellers! How’s your stay going in France? Let’s get out of your cosy bedrooms, eat something and start with our explorations! While reading this post, don’t forget to turn on your radio. Play this song while reading the post and trust me you’ll literally roll down the lanes of Paris!

Delicious Cuisine that is a must try:

1. Street-stand crêpes:

Walking around Paris, you’ll see street stands selling crêpes everywhere. One of the few truly native street foods, the crêpe is indeed a lovely treat to indulge in when it’s time for an afternoon snack. Be sure to pick a stand that cooks crêpes to order rather than reheating them from a pile cooked earlier, makes them thin and is kept spotlessly clean.

2. Macarons:

The delicate pastry, consisting of two almond meringue shells glued together with buttercream or ganache, has taken the world by storm but its birthplace is resolutely Paris. Available in all sorts of flavours and just as many colours, macarons are two-bite delights, but it is worth seeking them out from reputable pastry shops that actually make their own. Also, and go easy on the rainbow-style food colourings.

3. Croissants:

Walk past any bakery in the wee hours of the morning and you’ll be instantly spellbound by the warm buttery smell of fresh croissants escaping from the air vents at pavement level. This is your cue to step in and get your golden prize, which you can tuck into and savour on your morning walk as the city awakens.

4. Raw-milk artisanal cheeses:

Paris is truly the gastronomic hub of France, and nowhere is it more apparent than in cheese shops, where you can buy the makings of a cheesy Tour de France and taste your way through each region’s stars, from the mildest to the sharpest. Always favour raw-milk cheeses (unless you have a compromised immunity) and ask the vendor what’s best right now, as the production of artisanal cheeses is a seasonal affair.

5. Jambon-beurre:

Like all city dwellers, Parisians often need to eat on the go, and the jambon-beurre is the most Parisian of sandwiches. You can buy it from corner bakeries or order it from the counter at most cafés; in both cases, it will come as a fresh half-baguette, its insides smeared with cool butter and garnished with ‘jambon de Paris’, a pink-hued cooked ham, with optional cornichons.

6. Duck confit:

Originally devised to preserve fresh duck meat for future consumption, the confit method consists of cooking duck thighs in their own fat, until the meat is spectacularly moist and fork-tender. Few Parisian bistros make their own, but they pride themselves in selecting the best producer, typically from the southwest of France, and serve them seared until the skin turns golden and crisp. The classic side is pommes sarladaises, heavenly garlicky potatoes sautéed in duck fat.

7. Croque-monsieur:

Most brasseries and cafés in Paris offer non-stop service, and a staple of their menu is the croque-monsieur, an oozy and crisp grilled ham and cheese sandwich usually moistened by a touch of béchamel sauce. If you’re extra hungry, get the croque-madame, which adds a fried egg on top.

8. Baguette:

It is safe to say that Paris is the place on Earth with the highest density of top-quality, artisanal baguettes. Each year a competition is held to elect the ‘Meilleure Baguette de Paris’, and the list of best-baguette awardees is a good resource to select your provider. Don’t forget to tear off the crusty, still-warm tip and nibble on it as you walk away, as any self-respecting Parisian does.

Quick Ideas for boosting up the worth of your Final Project-In the context of English History and Literature.

A detailed project of Historical Eras of English Literature:

Once upon a time in a faraway land, the horizon blurred out with invasions and dismay lingered in the streets. In this era, known as Dark Age, Anglo-Saxons emerged as immigrants who took over Britain and from seafarer wanderers and looters, they became civilized peasants and agriculturalists. This is Britain and the story starts here. When it comes to English literature and history, we have many eras from the age of bloodshed and antiquity, shiny armours and dark knights also known as the age of Anglo-Saxons, to the rational age of Alexander Pope, where the classical school of thoughts dominated over imagination and openmindedness till the revival of Ballads, love for Nature and gothic literature also known as the contemporary age of Romanticism. For the final project of History of English Literature, I divided equal work in my group members and we started off with a never-ending fatigue for whole 2 weeks. Finally, after many clashes and disagreements, I succeeded not only in the completion of our project on time but to give a detailed but brief timeline of all the eras starting from Anglo-Saxons to Romantics. And also, to my surprise, we scored highest in our class. I am here to share some creative tips for a Final project of Literature and hope that it might help you in getting maximum ideas. To make a perfect project, consider the following tips in mind:

1. Timelines:

Using cardboards and chart papers, make different timelines like the timeline of kings, inventions and poets showing the evolution of literature or invention of any literary device with time and people, culture and invasions.

IMG-20180509-WA0178

2. Create your media wall:

Media wall is the wall behind your display table. This wall contains all the display material including culture, religion, eatables, literary devices, wall hangings showing poets and writers of an era and whatever stuff you feel like exhibiting.

Exhibition Desk Decor:

Whichever exhibition are you going to conduct, just keep in mind to decorate your stall with the maximum amount of relatable things to your topic and other accessories regarding that age and culture of that time. For Example, we made different antiques like crowns, shiny armours, swords, and a knight’s bowl helmet to show culture and society of Anglo-Saxons age. We also displayed Christian cross, and Bible to show religion and I also made the book of chivalry and courtly love for displaying literature and beliefs of that time. We also lighted up a hanging lantern to show old times and to give a perfect medieval hint to our exhibition desk. Make props regarding your topic and just sparkle up your table with them 🙂

Make as many Models and Visuals as you can!

Visuals speak louder than work! Always keep this trick in mind that visuals can win your audience by giving them knowledge as well as entertainment especially when it comes to exhibitions and projects. Make a selfie booth and provide people with your own props. Trust me, not only the visitors, but our opponent exhibitors also visited our stall and demanded the props for taking pictures. This divert visitors attention towards your work station. A model is an all-rounder; you can display everything on one styrofoam sheet.

Characterizing Group Members by Dress-up Game:

Whatever your topic of exhibition or project might be, derive characters; either real or imaginary related to the events and discoveries of your topic. For example, I gave characters of different princesses, Kings and writers like Geoffrey Chaucer to my group members from medieval age empire. Roles and characters must be provided as per ease and beliefs of your group members.

I hope you guys would find it helpful. This is just the basic idea of how to make your projects more creative and appealing. Since my field is English linguistics and literature so I quoted text and images as per that context but this is not only confined to English literature but other subjects and fields as well like Engineering and Biology students, Finance and Business management students, Chemistry and Psychology students and who not. In case of any help, ideas, suggestions and queries you can contact me here: kyxy220@gmail.com.

Happy projecting sugarcakes! ❤
